Bangladesh to play first series after Shakib Al Hasan's retirement
Bangladesh is gearing up for their first series without star player Shakib Al Hasan, who recently announced his retirement from the format. The news of his retirement from the shortest format came ahead of the second Test against India at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur.
The last time Bangladesh came to India for a T20I series was in 2019, resulting in a 2-1 loss for the visiting team. Since then, the two teams have met again in the shortest format, most recently at the 2024 Men's T20 World Cup . In that match, held at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua, India secured a convincing 50-run victory over Bangladesh.
