BCCI official holds CEO, chief curator responsible for Guwahati T20I washout: Report

A BCCI official has come out and blamed BCCI CEO Rahul Johri and chief curator Ashish Bhowmick for negligence during the planning of the first IND vs SL T20I.

Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) was at receiving end of widespread ridicule on Sunday as it failed to effectively bring about  Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. Although rains at venue lasted less than an hour, water mand to seep on to  main pitch and caused two damp spots on both ends which groundsmen could t get rid off. match was finally called off after three hours of inspection.

Talking to a leading Indian news ncy, a BCCI official blamed CEO Rahul Johri and chief curator Ashish Bhowmick for t taking appropriate action to avoid embarrassing situation during first T20I had board made sure that every state association had ir basics covered. Sunday's game was Barsapara Stadium's second T20I game. Cheap rain manment measures are also being blamed for washout at Sunday's game. It is being said that a high-quality rain cover which costs only INR 50,000 could have been used, instead of cheap plastic that allowed water to seep on to  main pitch.
