Calls to boycott Nepal Cricket body rise as rape-accused Lamichhane allowed to practice
The CAN has reportedly allowed Sandeep Lamichhane to practice ahead of the tri-series involving Namibia and Scotland despite being accused in a rape case.

Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has been in helines for past few days over controversy linked to its spinner Sandeep Lamichhane. Lamichhane is currently out on bail but under police investigation for allegedly raping a mir. CAN has reportedly allowed Lamichhane to practice ahe of triangular series involving Namibia and Scotland despite being accused in a rape case of a mir. People took to street on Saturday to protest against induction of Lamichhane into national team.
Demonstrators stood with placards near ministrative centre - Singha Durbar. placards re, "CAN or CANT?", "Are we safe?", "Gentleman Game or Mentalman Game?." Meanwhile, netizens have taken to social media to raise issue with hashtag '#BoycottCAN'. CAN lifts ban on Lamichhane
Nepal Cricket Team is all set to host Scotland and Namibia for a triangular series starting February 14. practice session for series started on Thursday, February 2. CAN shared its squ for closed camp on Thursday which included Lamichhane, country's top player with experience of playing in Indian Premier League (IPL) and several or T20 leagues around world including in Australia. CAN removed ban on Lamichhane ahe of Cricket World Cup League 2 tri-series matches.
Lamichhane is accused to have raped a mir on August 21 last year. Lamichhane put out several social media posts denying any wrongdoing after accusations were me.
