CSK CEO declares team ready to play Mumbai Indians in IPL 2020 season opener
CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan, while speaking to InsideSport, revealed that the franchise is ready to take on Mumbai Indians in the season opener of the IPL 2020.

Earlier reports had suggested that rumoured Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings IPL 2020 opening game could be under threat due to several members in CSK camp testing positive for COVID-19. It was even reported that with Chennai Super Kings t in a position to take field, Virat Kohli’s RCB will take its place in IPL 2020 season opener. However, latest comments made by CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan seemed to have paved way for Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings curtain-raiser.

Ready for IPL 2020 opener: CSK CEO
Speaking to InsideSport, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan said that franchise never had any problem playing opening game of IPL 2020. CEO also confirmed that while final decision will be made by IPL Governing Council, CSK are ready to take on Mumbai Indians in season opener. InsideSport report also indicated that all 13 members of CSK camp who had tested positive for COVID-19 earlier, which included two players, have w tested negative. negative test results were received when second COVID-19 test was conducted on Thursday.

CSK CEO also shed line on franchise’s plans, as he revealed that team will finally begin training outdoors from Friday or Saturday. Kasi Viswanathan said that y were extremely relieved with negative tests, with coach and captain taking final call on resumption of practice sessions. However, whenever CSK squad takes to field for practice, y wouldn’t be joined by squad members Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaekwad, who had tested positive for virus earlier.

IPL schedule to be anunced on Friday: Sourav Ganguly
Speaking to ABP News, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly anunced that IPL schedule will be released on Friday. former Indian captain admitted that IPL 2020 schedule has been delayed, disclosing that it is on verge of getting finalized and should be anunced by Friday. Confirmation regarding IPL schedule was also given by BCCI treasurer Arun Dhamal, who while speaking to media, said that tournament will begin as scheduled. IPL 2020 is scheduled to begin on September 19, with it being widely expected that first match of season will see a replay of last year’s final, with Mumbai Indians taking on Chennai Super Kings.
