Warner only became the third Australian player to score international centuries in all the three formats of the game after Shane Watson and Glenn Maxwell. The dashing left-hander hit eight fours and three sixes in his innings.
Speaking in the post-match presentation, Warner said that it meant everything for him to contribute and put the team in a great position. He added that he was happy with the milestone but he was happy that they had got a huge total on the board and it was always tough chasing a big target in Australia. He lauded Sri Lankan bowler Nuwan Pradeep, terming him as a world-class bowler. He also appreciated the Australian crowd for supporting them constantly despite their busy schedules. He added that they thrived on people coming and watching them.
