Women's T20 World Cup: During New Zealand’s run-chase, Ellyse Perry damaged her right hamstring while fielding. She went off balance while throwing a ball.

Australia Women defeated New Zealand Women by 4 runs in a virtual quarter-final affair of ongoing ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020. With ir recent victory, defending champions finished group st at second spot of Group A points table. y will w face eir South Africa Women or England Women in semi-final. During course of match, Australia’s star all-rounder Ellyse Perry injured herself and had to leave field immediately reafter.

Women’s T20 World Cup: Ellyse Perry breaks into tears upon injury

During 11th over of New Zealand’s run-chase, White Ferns' skipper Sophie Devine pushed a Nicola Carey slower-one onto off-side for a single. While Ellyse Perry approached ball and threw it off balance, she did some serious dam to her hamstring. cricketer was n escorted by team physios off field and she did t take any furr part in all-important match for Australia.

During post-match press conference, Australia Women skipper Meg Lanning was asked to give an update about Ellyse Perry’s condition. Lanning confirmed that Perry’s right hamstring was seriously damd. However,  Australian team manment is still unsure about extent of her injury. She concluded by saying that her condition over next few days will decide wher Perry will compete in remainder of tournament or t.

Before her injury, Ellyse Perry provided some late exhilaration for Australia as defending champions reached 155-5 in ir 20 overs. Perry scored 21 runs from just 15 balls before perishing in penultimate ball of innings. all-rounder n returned with ball in hand but could bowl only two overs before her collapse forced her out of field.
