As a part of the preparation for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023, the English cricket team will take on New Zealand in a four-match T20I and ODI series from August 30, 2023. Both teams will also take on each other in the opening match of the 50-over World Cup starting from October 5, 2023. The English team has included six new players in their squad whereas, all-rounder Ben Stokes has also come back into the team after reversing his ODI retirement decision earlier this month. 

3 things you need to know 

  • The first England vs New Zealand T20I match will be played at the Riverside Ground in Chester le-Street
  • Jos Buttler will lead England in the upcoming white ball series against New Zealand 
  • Tim Southee will be leading New Zealand in the upcoming ENG vs NZ T20I series
