Eoin Morgan to decide on England captaincy future after T20 World Cup

Eoin Morgan who led England to victory at the 50-over World Cup in July said he will decide his captaincy future after next year's T20 World Cup in Australia.

Morgan has had a history of back injuries but Southpaw said that he wanted to lead England at T20 World Cup in October 2020.

Speaking in press conference ahead of ir five-match T20 series against New Zealand, which starts on Friday in Christchurch, Morgan said that he won't be finished after upcoming T20 WC. He did t want to let anyone down which is why he said he was going to take a call after WC in Australia.

When he was asked wher he had considered retiring after ir historic World Cup victory in July, Morgan said that if he could prove his fitness again n . He added that y had a special group of players and he was lucky to lead m. He went on to say that y can do something special down line with group y have got.

Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, Jos Buttler and Jason Roy were all rested for series against New Zealand and England picked five uncapped players for series. Only three players who faced New Zealand in 50-over final at Lord’s Jonny Bairstow, Morgan and Adil Rashid are in squad.

Worcestershire bowler Pat Brown will make his England debut on Friday, while Surrey all-rounder Sam Curran, who has played 11 Tests and two one-day internationals, will make his T20 international debut. Kent batsman Joe Denly is a major doubt after taking a heavy fall in training.

Morgan said that y will pick team that y felt was good eugh to win series but he also insisted on trying new players out and added that re was use in just selecting m and t giving m an opportunity in playing XI. 33-year-old went on to say that re were t many places up for grabs but majority of players were going to be provided with opportunity and exposure as ir aim was t only to build a team for upcoming World Cup but one that followed it as well.
