Anushka Sharma has penned an explosive and emotional post following allegations of receiving preferential treatment while at the World Cup with Team India, and on the near-constant criticism that's directed at her over the form of her husband and Team India skipper Virat Kohli. In her post, she hits back at a recent allegation by Farouk Engineer that she was served tea by selectors, and also on older controversies, such as when she was a part of the Team India photoshoot at the Indian High Commission in the UK during Team India's 2018 tour.

"The latest version of this ill-intended lies is that I was being served tea by selectors at matches during the World Cup! I came to one game during the World Cup and sat in the family box and not the selectors' box as reported. But when has the truth mattered when it is about convenience! If you want to have a comment on the selection committee and their qualifications, please do so as it's your opinion but don't drag my name into it to substantiate your claim or sensationalize your opinion. I refuse to allow anyone from using my name in such conversations", wrote Anushka Sharma
Anushka Sharma explodes at critics
Anushka Sharma responded strongly to the allegations of receiving preferential treatment from the team's selectors during Team India's tours. Breaking her silence on the issue, she said that she was blamed for the most baseless things involving Indian cricket including being served tea, spending excess time with Virat Kohli on tours, attending closed-door meetings of the team, appearing for a photo with the team along with the High Commissioner although she did not want to be a part of it. Anushka Sharma listed out the fabricated news items involving her name and said that while she was silent about most of the issues, she could no longer tolerate the fake news and said that even if people wanted to give their opinions about the selection committee and their qualifications should refrain from using her name to do so.
