The Indian cricket team led by Rohit Sharma recently won the Asia Cup 2023 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Kuldeep Yadav were also part of the squad. This was India's 8th title in the continental tournament, which was held in both Pakistan and Sri Lanka in a "hybrid model." India won the final after defeating Sri Lanka by 10 wickets. Mohammed Siraj shone with the ball as he picked up 6 wickets for just 21 runs, resulting a total collapse of the Sri Lankan batting lineup.

India are now scheduled to lock horns against Australia in a three-match ODI series. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been rested for the first two games of the series. KL Rahul will captain the side in absence of Rohit. The series will serve as a rehearsal for the upcoming ICC Men's Cricket World Cup, scheduled to be held in India from October 5 to November 19. The three-match bilateral will commence on September 22 and the last match will be played on September 27.
