India's ODI opener Shikhar Dhawan has not been in the best of his form recently and had lost his test spot way back in 2018, and with Mayank Agrawal notching up centuries, one after another, the opening spot seems way out of Dhawan's reach for now. After a disastrous tour of England in 2018, Shikhar Dhawan was left out of the Test side and has not managed to make it back to the team yet. Although his name remains fixed as an opener for the limited-overs formats of the game, the left-handed opener wants to be back in the Test side as he loves the longer format of the game. The opener has struggled to find his touch in Tests as Dhawan has played 34 Test matches and scored 2315 runs at an average of 40.61.
Mayank Agrawal shines for India
On the other hand, Mayank Agarwal has been shining for India in tests as he has managed to get the team off to some brilliant starts. Not only for India, but the Karnataka-lad has also been shining for his home state in the Ranji trophy. Agrawal has been in spectacular form as he notched up his third century in the first test match between India and England in Indore. Netizens were quick enough to respond to Agrawal's form and speculated that it is "a far-fetched dream" for Shikhar Dhawan to make his way back into the Test Team. Here are some of the reactions:
