Rohit Sharma became the sixth Indian batsman to complete 10,000 runs in the ODI format. The Indian captain achieved this feat in the second Super Fours fixture against Sri Lanka at R. Premdasa Stadium in Colombo. The 36-year-old needed 22 runs to cross the barrier and brought up another significant milestone in his career with a six of Kasun Rajitha.

Rohit took 241 innings to register this record and he is only the sixth player after MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly to breach the mark. He has now surpassed Tendulkar as he is now the second fastest ever to reach 10,000 ODI runs.
