India vs Australia 4th Test: Ex-Australian players slam their side's tactics on Day 4

Several ex-Australian cricketers including Adam Gilchrist and Mark Waugh unimpressed with Australia not declaring early during the India vs Australia 4th Test.

Australia, on or hand, must bundle out India to fulfil ir trophy aspirations. This could be a reason why several ex-players are of opinion that home team should have contemplated on an early declaration. While commentating on Day 4, Mark Waugh suggested that hosts could have apted a more aggressive approach in order to gain an upper hand in encounter. According to Waugh, if Australia would have been more proactive with ir batting, y could have stood a chance of declaring ir innings early. As per former player, this would have given m a much better chance of registering yet ar famous win at Gabba.

Former Australian wicketkeeper, am Gilchrist, also echoed same sentiments as he pointed out that considering wear, it would have been a wiser decision if team would have gone for an early declaration. 49-year-old was t too pleased with tactics used by Tim Paine and Australian team manment despite being aware of wear forecast.

Steve Smith, who roared back to form with a match-winning performance at Sydney, was top performer for Australia on Day 4. star batsman scored his 31st half-century in longer format and chipped in with 55 crucial runs. Steve Smith's promising kck was ultimately cut short after Mohammed Siraj sent 31-year-old packing. Mohammed Siraj was pick of Indian bowlers as he claimed his maiden five-wicket haul in only his third Test match.
