KL Rahul to Yuzi Chahal, Players RCB May Bid For at IPL 2025 Mega Auction

RCB would be in a position to make huge bids at the IPL 2025 auction. Like the other nine teams, RCB was also allocated a budget of Rs 120 Crore for the upcoming IPL 2025. Following the three retentions - Virat Kohli (Rs 21 Crore), Rajat Patidar (Rs 11 Crore) and Yash Dayal (Rs 5 Crore), RCB now have Rs 83 Cr. Apart from the three players, who are the others RCB would gun for and why.

RCB May Bid For

KL Rahul : Even before the Retention Day, there were whispers that Rahul would be released and he may get lapped up by his home franchise, that is, RCB. After he was released, he has made it clear that RCB is the franchise he wants to play for. He has been a part of the franchise in the past and there is a good possibility they may place a bid for him as they would need a captain. Not only can he lead, but he can also double up as a wicketkeeper and an opener. 

Yuzvendra Chahal: The leg-spinner is another former RCB player. Chahal is one of the most successful bowlers in the history of the cash-rich league and an asset to have. Chahal is the only bowler with more than 200 wickets in IPL history. He has been released by the Rajasthan side and hence one understands RCB will have an eye on Chahal. 

Jos Buttler: Now that Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell have been released, RCB would be looking for a star overseas player and Buttler could fit the bill perfectly well.

Harshal Patel: At RCB, Harshal emerged as the Purple Cap holder in IPL, not once, but twice. Harshal also had a phenomenal season with Punjab in 2024. For Harshal, RCB is home and the franchise could go big for him at the auction.
