Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024: Team India are all set to take on Australia in five-match Test series that begins on November 22, 2024. first match of IND vs AUS Test series will be played at Optus Stium, Perth. India are defending champions of Border-Gavaskar Trophy and y are eyeing a fifth consecutive series victory against hosts. India emerged victorious in ir last two visits to Australia and y are trying to emulate ir heroics from 2018 and 2020.

Team India's regular Test skipper Rohit Sharma stayed back in country to be with his spouse for birth of ir second child. Rohit, will reportedly join squ ahe of second Test match of series, that will be played in elaide. In Rohit's absence, Jasprit Bumrah will le team in Perth Test.
India bowling coach Morne Morkel dressed media ahe of Perth Test and revealed reason that why Bumrah was bestowed with leership role for first Test.

'Jassi as guy that immediately sort of put his hand up and he wanted that leership role. I think, he has been very successful in past. He knows what to expect. In dressing room he speaks well and he is a guy that I know that with ball in hand will le from front and rest of younger guys will follow. So, for him it is an exciting sort of challenge ahe. But again, re are lot of experienced guys who will help him. I am sure when he is bowling, it will bring a bit of calmness into team. But in terms of leership, in terms of how he looks at game and approaches game, he is a natural leer for me.', said Morkel
