Namibia on Sunday registered a historic win against Sri Lanka in ir opening match of Round 1 of ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup. Namibia defeated Sri Lanka by a huge margin of 55 runs courtesy of an all-round performance from Jan Frylinck, who scored 44 runs with bat and also picked two wickets to his name. 

After game, Namibian skipper Gerhard Erasmus said it's been an incredible journey for his entire team since last year and w y topped that with a great win against Sri Lanka. Erasmus, meanwhile, ted re's still a lot of work to do for rest of tournament. He said it's been a historic day for team.

"It’s been an incredible journey, last year was exciting for us and we’ve w topped that with a great win. Though re’s still a lot of work to do for rest of tournament. But yeah it’s been a historic day for us," Namibian skipper Gerhard Erasmus said in his post-match presentation.

At Victoria's GMHBA Stium, Sri Lanka opted to field first after winning toss for game. Batting first, Namibia scored 163/7 in 20 overs thanks to Jan Frylinck's outstanding batting performance. run out effected by Danushka Gunathilaka and Kusal Mendis ended Namibian batter's innings after he h scored 44 runs off 28 deliveries.

team's total also received a boost from Stephen Baard (26), Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton (20), and Gerhard Erasmus (20). Toward conclusion of ir innings, JJ Smit scored 31 runs off just 16 balls, pushing Namibia's total above 160. Maheesh ekshana, Dushmantha Chameera, Chamika Karunaratne, and Wanindu Hasaranga each took one wicket, while Pramod Liyanagam picked up two for Sri Lanka.

Namibia n bowled Sri Lanka out for just 108 runs in 19 overs. Ben Shikongo, Jan Frylinck, David Wiese, Bernard Scholtz, and Ben Shikongo each took two wickets, and JJ Smit took one wicket to his name. Because of his all-round performance in game, Frylinck was named player of match.
