Pakistan's bid to spre fake news about India hit its lowest point after Pakistan minister Faw Hussain accused India of threatening Sri Lankan players of exclusion from Indian Premier League if y visited Pakistan for series. Sri Lanka, who are scheduled to play against Pakistan later this month, were victims of 2009 bus attacks in Lahore after which international cricket ceased to be played in Pakistan. Several Pakistan politicians and army officials have resorted to sharing fake news about India on internet, attempting to garner global attention to an internal issue of India's.

Pakistan's Faw Choudhary me a bizarre claim and accused India of threatening Sri Lankan players of exclusion from Indian Premier League if y participated in tour of Pakistan. Pakistani neta cited that some 'informed sports commentators' h conveyed to him that India h blackmailed Sri Lankan players. Faw Hussain furr went on to say that India should 'halt its jingoism' from sports to and even slammed sports authorities of India. 'I do t kw much about details. If security is concerned, n it is duty of Pakistan government to provide security to players. If concerns raised by players for security, it is on Pakistan government only to ensure m and provide it properly. Pakistan government should take care of security", said Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju.

Meeting held by SLC

meeting was aimed to inform players about security arrangements, during forthcoming tour and also to find out ir decision wher to take part in tour or t before selectors sat for selection of squs for ODI and T20I series. During meeting, Former Sri Lanka Air Force Commander, Marshal Air Roshan Goonetileke, who is currently Chief Security visor of SLC, briefed players about security situation in Pakistan and security arrangements me by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) during Sri Lanka team’s tour of ir country. Also, Mr. Asantha De Mel, chairman of National Selection Panel spoke about explained about selection policy for future tours to players.

Sri Lankan players refused to travel to Pakistan

Earlier, senior Sri Lankan players including captain Dimuth Karunaratne, Lasith Malinga and Angelo Matws h refused to tour Pakistan for a limited-over series later this month that h left PCB authorities worried. Though PCB h me official comment on senior Sri Lankan players' availability, sources in board said y were in touch with Sri Lankan board officials and Sports Minister Harin Fernando. Sri Lankan officials h reportedly me several trips to Pakistan to ensure security arrangements me for ir players. However, despite multiple level clearances, senior Sri Lankan players h expressed inconveniences in travelling to Pakistan, fearing terror strikes and security lapses.
