India's leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi suffered a horrific injury in India's 43 run victory over Sri Lanka in the first T20 International as the Gautam Gambhir and Suryakumar Yadav era started off in style.
Ravi Bishnoi got severely injured in the second innings when the leggie went for a caught and bowl attempt and ended up catching a deep cut just below his eye.

Ravi Bishnoi's severe injury
India were in need of wickets in the second innings of the game when Ravis Bishnoi stepped up to bowl the 16th over of the innings. As it turned out, Ravi Bishnoi went for a caught and bowl attempt and in doing so stumbled his foot and ended up hitting the ground hard. As Ravi Bishnoi went to the ground, the ball richoched off his hand and hit him just below the eye to give him a deep cut as he started bleeding.

Bishnoi was bleeding a lot and hence he had to be attended to and fixed up with an eye patch to stop the bleeding. Despite the injury, Ravi Bishnoi continued playing for India in their win.

India Beat Sri Lanka
The Gautam Gambhir era in Indian Cricket is well underway as the new head coach alongside India's new T20I Captain Suryakumar Yadav won their very first match in charge of their new roles as India held their nerve against a spirited Sri Lanka to emerge victorious by 43 runs in the first T20 International.
India after being forced to bat first set up an intimidating total of 214 runs to chase after amazing knock by skipper Suryakumar Yadav. In the second innings it looked Sri Lanka were cruising towards victory at one stage of the game, however Indian bowlers kept their nerves and pulled away with the win towards the end.
