Riding high on a great 2022, 'Savage' Suryakumar becomes ICC T20I Cricketer Of The Year

Indian batting sensation Suryakumar Yadav becomes the ICC T20I Cricketer Of The Year after a fantastic T20I cricket season.

After a dominant season of T20i's in 2022, Indian batting sensation Suryakumar Yav has finally been named ICC Men's T20I Cricketer Of Year by International Cricket Council. Surya became first Indian batter to score 1000 T20I runs in a cricket season and also dethroned Mohamm Rizwan as number one T20 batter. 

Surya achieved this feat by beating star players like Sam Curran and Mohamm Rizwan who have also impressed with ir performance.

Playing his best International season by any player in shortest format Surya me 1164 runs in 31 matches at an aver of 46.56. new Mr. 360 also maintained an explosive strike rate of 187.43 during season. Surya ended his season as highest run getter and hit 68 sixes as well. 

Along with 9 half centuries, Surya also hit 2 centuries last season. Surya also played an important role at number 4 in Rohit Sharma led Team India's T20 World Cup campaign. Surya scored three half centuries out of six innings he played in T20 World Cup at a strike rate of 189.68.

Suryakumar t only finished in T20I season here he continued his majestic form and hit yet ar century against New Zealand in bilateral series Team India played after T20 World Cup. 

Surya also achieved highest T20I ranking of all time by achieving 890 rating points.

Remembering Suryakumar Yav's maiden T20I century against England, ICC said, "re were quite a few standout performances from Yav during year. But perhaps his best came in ttingham against one of best white-ball teams in recent times - England - when he me his maiden T20I hundred, a stunning 117 off 55 balls. From 31/3 in a run chase of 216, Yav lifted India with his outrous stroke-making, giving visitors a chance at chasing down target. His dismissal ended India's hopes of a famous victory, but he put team within touching distance of what would have been an incredible win."
