Ar commonality between m is ir Test debuts. Incredibly, y me ir debuts on same date. Sharma debuted on vember 7, 2013 whereas Gilchrist debuted on vember 7, 1999. Both batsmen also h a similar kind of debut as y shined with bat.

Rohit Sharma me his debut against West Indies at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Incidentally, match was also a part of Sachin Tendulkar's farewell series. Having won toss, Windies elected to bat first and mand to post 234 on board. India did t begin well as y kept losing wickets regularly and were left reeling for 156/6. Sharma & Ashwin started building innings and overtook Windies total. Both showed maturity and character to bail India out of situation.  Sharma scored a fine century & Ashwin soon followed. Sharma was dismissed for 177 but showed good temperament in his first very Test itself as India posted a commanding first-innings total of 453. Windies were bowled out for 168, which gave India a win by an innings and 51 runs. Rohit Sharma was judged 'Player of Match'.

On or hand, am Gilchrist me his Test match debut in first Test against Pakistan at  Gabba in Brisbane in vember 1999, becoming 381st Australian Test cricketer.  southpaw replaced Ian Healy, who was dropped after his poor run, despite his request to national selectors to allow him a farewell game in front of his home crowd. Gilchrist's debut in Tests coincided with a dramatic rise in Australia's fortunes. Gilchrist's icy reception at Gabba did t faze him as he took five catches, stumped Azhar Mahmood off Shane Warne's bowling and scored a rapid 81 that helped   Aussies to secure a comfortable ten wicket-win.
