Champions Trophy 2025: The fate of the upcoming mega ICC event, the Champions Trophy is uncertain. India have made their stance very clear and have written to ICC about their choice of not travelling to Pakistan . The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on the other hand have reportedly rejected the idea of having a 'Hybrid Model' for the ICC event and this has made the scenario even worse. It is a well known fact that India drives global cricket and without them, the tournament might not go forward as planned.
The 2023 edition of the Asia Cup was also hosted by Pakistan Cricket Board, but back then, it was played in a 'Hybrid Model'. India had played all their matches in Sri Lanka. Earlier, reports had emerged that India had opted to play their Champions Trophy matches in the UAE, but Pakistan's reluctancy to put a 'Hybrid Model' in place is risking the tournament's future.

“Unless the PCB decides to pull out of hosting the Champions Trophy the current plan is to hold India’s matches in UAE and the final in Dubai,” a source told PTI. “The Indian Cricket Board has told the ICC that a Hybrid Model is acceptable to them only if the final is held in Dubai and not in Pakistan,” the source added.
