The Bengaluru Test match will be one such instance which will be etched in the Kiwi players' minds after they knocked out India in a record-breaking score. The win was huge as they managed to tame India despite the hosts showcasing their fighting spirit in an attempt to snatch the win away from their hands. Ahead of the 2nd Test Match, Daryl Mitchell revealed on how the team kept their composure despite Team India's resistance.

How New Zealand Kept Calm Despite Team India's Aggressive Attack? Daryl Mitchell Speaks Out
While speaking to the media after New Zealand's training session, all-rounder Daryl Mitchell revealed details on how the Blackcaps kept their calm as India's Rishabh Pant and Sarfaraz Khan raked up runs during the second innings of the Bengaluru Test at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Mitchell revealed that they kept the pressure on the hosts as they were in the position of the game. Daryl added that all the visiting side had to do was to try to take their wickets, which they managed to do with ease.
“Rishabh, he's a world-class player and I seriously respect how he goes about playing his cricket, and it was a great partnership.
“But for us, we know that at Bangalore, it's a fast-scoring ground. Where we were in the position of the game, we knew that we just need to keep trying to take wickets, keep trying to put pressure on them,” Daryl Mitchell said.

As the race to the World Test Championship final heats up, the hosts are expected to put up a fight against the Black Caps in Pune. New Zealand defeated India in their stadium for the first time in 36 years to take a 1-0 lead. The Kiwis will need to move past their historic victory in the Bengaluru Test and quickly adjust to potentially spin-friendly conditions in the second test if they want to maintain their dominance against the hosts, India.
