Cristiano Ronaldo rubbishes rape allegations, calls it 'fake news'

In the wake of the shocking rape allegations made against Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese superstar has taken to Instagram to address the accusations issued against him by branding it as 'fake news'.

The Juventus forward spoke about the incident just hours after the allegations were imposed against by him an American model Kathryn Mayorga, who claimed that the former Real Madrid player had sexually assaulted her way back in 2003.

The five-time Baloon d'or winner has broken his silence for the first time since the news broke, via a live video posted on his Instagram account. Denying the claims he says, ''No, no, no, no, no. What they said today? Fake, fake news.''

'‘They want to promote [themselves by using] my name. It’s normal. They want to be famous to say my name, but it is part of the job. I am a happy man and all good,'' he further aded. 

According to German media outlet Der Speigel, the reported woman, Kathryn Mayorga claims that Cristiano Ronaldo forcefully raped her in a room in Las Vegas. The Portuguese was apparently partying with his brother-in-law and his cousin, when the incident occurred to have happened. 

Mayorga insists that the five-time Baloon D'or winner was brought down to his knees after being ashamed of the incident, while telling her that he was “99 per cent a good guy” let down by the “one per cent”.

Following which, Cristiano Ronaldo paid $375,000 for her silence in an out-of-court settlement, which contracted the American model to never publicly speak about the in-famous incident.

Earlier, when Ronaldo was quizzed about these allegations, he denied the reports claiming that the sex was consensual. The lawyers are now questioning the validity of the out-of-court agreement which happened in the Sin City. 

With the news resurfacing now resurfacing again, Cristiano Ronaldo's lawyers have denied the rape allegations by calling the report 'blatantly illegal'. The footballers lawyers are now set to further file a lawsuit against the German news outlet for 'moral damages in an amount corresponding to the gravity of the infringement, which is probably one of the most serious violations of personal rights in recent years.'

Meanwhile, also in the live video, Cristiano Ronaldo also addressed about being snubbed by FIFA for the Puskas Goal of the year award, which was eventually won by Liverpool's Mohammed Salah. 

The Portuguese skipper thinks his overhead bicycle goal for Real Madrid against Juventus was wrongly overlooked and he further claims that his goal was the best as compared to Mohammed Salah's curling effort Everton that won the accolade.
