ISL to replicate European system, approves 5 substitution rule for 2020-21 season: Reports
The ISL 2020-21 season is just a week away. The league has announced that the new season will follow the five substitution rule that is being followed in Europe

maximum number of substitutes for 2020-21 season of ISL has been increased from three to five. Keeping in mind welfare of players returning to action after a long break due to ongoing coronavirus pandemic, league anunced change on Tuesday. Teams can use ir five substitutes over a maximum of three intervals which doesn't include half-time substitutions.

Thought Premier League did away with 5 substitutions rule, same has been followed in continental competitions (UEFA Champions League and Europa League) and or club tournaments. rule was also followed in leagues across world after football resumed post coronavirus halt and will w be used in Indian football for 2020-21 season of Indian Super League.

ISL 2020-21 season - All you need to kw
In terms of squ and playing XI for clubs, each club must have a minimum of five and a maximum of seven foreign players in ir squ. Among foreign players in squ, at least one of m must be an Asian Football Confederation (AFC) affiliated player.

In playing XI, a maximum of five foreign players can be on field at any point in a game along with a minimum of six Indians. Furrmore, all clubs are required to have a minimum of two ‘Developmental Players’ in ir matchday team. A developmental player is someone who was born on or after January 1, 2000.

new ISL season kicks off in Goa on vember 20, with newly formed ATK Mohun Bagan taking on Kerala Blasters at GMC Stium in Bambolim. ISL will mark return of live sporting action in country following suspension of all sporting activities due to COVID-19.
season will be played behind closed doors in a bio-secure bubble across three venues, namely - Jawaharlal Nehru Stium (Fatorda), GMC Stium (Bambolim), and Tilak Maidan (Vasco). ISL 2020-21 season will have an ditional team after organizers approved SC East Bengal's entry into league.
