Mauricio Pochettino refused to resign as Tottenham manager owing to compensation: Report

Mauricio Pochettino was sacked by Tottenham Hotspur. The Argentine refused to resign as Tottenham manager as he would have to forfeit a £12m payoff.

Mauricio Pochetti finds himself out of a job after Argentinian was sacked by Tottenham Hotspur. However, reports have w emerged that Mauricio Pochetti refused to quit as manr of Tottenham Hotspur. This is in part down to fact that Mauricio Pochetti stood to receive a £12m payoff if he was sacked as manr, owing to three years left in his contract. However, Pochetti would forfeit  £12m if he chose to resign.

Mauricio Pochetti sacked, Jose Mourinho takes over

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy released a statement saying that  club were extremely reluctant to make change. However, Levy also said that it was t a decision that Tottenham Hotspur board have taken lightly, r in haste. Mauricio Pochetti's departure has seen Tottenham Hotspur turn to former Manchester United manr Jose Mourinho in order to salv something from ir season. Tottenham are currently 14th in Premier League and have t registered an away victory in Premier League in calendar year since January.

Tottenham Hotspur rope in ' Chosen One'

Jose Mourinho has w been appointed as manr of Tottenham Hotspur. former Manchester United manr was sacked by Red Devils in December last year and since took to punditry with Sky Sports. Mauricio Pochetti's sacking was met with frustration from Tottenham faithful. former Southampton manr guided Tottenham to four top-four finishes in Premier League in his five seasons in charge. Before his arrival, however, Tottenham registered just two top-four finishes in Premier League in all of 22 seasons.

It will be interesting to see where Mauricio Pochetti ends up after his sacking. Bayern Munich are currently without a permanent manr, having sacked Niko Kovac earlier this month. Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain could also be interested in Pochetti's services. However, it has been reported that Pochetti would favour a return to Spain.
