Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sign AS Roma's midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini to replace midfielder Christian Eriksen, who might leave.

Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur have set ir eyes on AS Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini, according to British media reports on Tuesday. With a possible departure of Christian Eriksen in upcoming January transfer window, Mauricio Pochetti would be already looking at replacements for Denmark International.

Eriksen’s contract with Spurs expires in summer of 2020. Hence in order to avoid a free move for Dane, Spurs would be looking to cash on player in winter transfer window. Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are all being linked with 27-year-old.

£51 million-valued Pellegrini is man believed to be replacing Eriksen at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. 23-year-old has broken through in AS Roma ranks in past few seasons and has also gained 12 caps for Italy. However, he has made just six appearances in all competitions this season after suffering from a foot injury in September 2019. Pellegrini has assisted on four occasions this season and is yet to find back of net for his side. He scored two goals and assisted thrice in previous season, hence he is trying to better himself.

However, Pochetti is also reportedly looking at or options for midfield. Argentine tactician is keen on signing Hakim Ziyech from Ajax. Moroccan football star has scored seven goals and has eight assists in all competitions so far this season. He has been phemenal for Ajax in previous seasons as well. He scored 21 goals with 13 assists in previous campaign, inviting huge interest from major clubs across Europe.
