Morikawa holds 2-shot lead with opening round of Sony Open underway in Hawaii

Collin Morikawa shot a 5-under 65 to hold a two-shot lead with the opening round underway at the Sony Open in Hawaii on Thursday. As a rookie in in 2019, the 22-year-old Morikawa, captured the Barracuda Championship for his first PGA Tour win.

Matt Jones, Ted Potter, Jr. and Ryan Palmer were tied for second at 3-under. Defending champion Matt Kuchar was four strokes off the pace at 1-under.
