‘You Hear People Saying There Is Olympics’: Dravid Unveils Team India’s Enthusiasm for 2028 LA Games

Former India coach Rahul Dravid reveals that Team India is eager to participate in the 2028 LA Olympics, where Cricket will be hosted for the first time.

For the first time in the history of the Olympics, the globally popular sport of cricket is all set to be recognized in the multi-sport event. The 2028 Olympics will be hosting cricket as a sport for the first time, and there is a lot of thrill among the fans of the sport. Particularly, the Team India players look to be enthusiastic regarding the inclusion of the game in the historic event, as revealed by the former Indian Cricket Team coach Rahul Dravid.

Former India Coach Rahul Dravid Reveals There Is Significant Hype Among Team India Stars for the 2028 Olympics

Rahul Dravid, the former head coach of India, praised and described as "truly phenomenal" to cricket's inclusion in the Los Angeles Olympics' sports schedule in 2028. Dravid participated in the first-ever India House panel discussion during the present Paris Olympics in the French capital, which was entitled "Cricket at the Olympics - Dawn of a New Era." Additionally, he disclosed that there has been a lot of discussion on the addition of cricket to the India team's locker room during his tenure.

"I've already heard a few conversations in the dressing room. People are talking about the 2026 T20 World Cup, there is an ODI World Cup in 2027, and you hear people saying there is the Olympics in 2028.

"People are going to want to win that gold medal, stand on the podium, and be a part of the Games Village, a great sporting event, and interact with so many athletes. As you get closer, I have no doubt that teams will be preparing and checking out facilities. They will take this seriously, and players will fight tooth and nail to be out there," Former Team India head coach Dravid said during the discussion.

Further in the discussion, Dravid exclaimed that the game of cricket should be a part of the historic multi-sport event as several people around the world follow it. He also affirmed that to be in such an environment where global athletes and stars from all around the world will be joining in a place is a dream come true for any sports person.
