Two-time grand slam champion Naomi Osaka has parted ways with her coach Jermaine Jenkins within a span of 7 months after her defeat in 4th round of US Open. Osaka hired Jenkins after she won Australian Open. Jermaine Jenkins has also been on-court practice partner with seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams. Naomi Osaka has t reached a tournament final since she partnered up with Jenkins after abruptly ending her association with Sascha Bajin. Osaka posted a tweet that said she was grateful for time invested and things she learned on and off-court. She furr ded that it was right time for her to embark on a new path.

former world number 1 tennis player was troubled by a knee problem throughout tournament before being ousted by Belinda Bencic in straight sets in fourth round. fourth round defeat was preceded by a disappointing season after early exits from French Open and Wimbledon. Osaka was of opinion that world number 1 ranking carries a heavy weight along with expectations of remaining consistent. Osaka claimed top spot in build-up to last grand slam of 2019 season irrespective of her t so impressive response in previous WTA sanctioned tournaments.

Naomi's early defeat in US Open has seen her drop in rankings, bringing her to fourth position w with Ashleigh Barty claiming top spot, Karolina Pliskova at second rank and Elina Svitolina at third rank in Women's Tennis Association (WTA) Rankings.
