'We are very proud': Praggnanandhaa's sister Vaishali reacts to Pragg's historic display

R Praggnanandhaa's defeat to Magnus Carlsen in the Chess World Cup final wouldn't take away credit from the Indian Grand Master. The 18 year old did force the reigning world number one to a tiebreaker after the initial two games failed to break the deadlock. Praggnanandhaa is now eligible to take part in the prestigious Candidates event.

R Praggnanandhaa's sister spoke exclusively to Republic TV

The young sensation will now be participating in a number of tournaments in the next few months. Praggnanandhaa's sister Vaishali spoke exclusively to Republic TV at their Chennai residence and she was very elated with his brother's exemplary display in one of chess' grand stages.

She said,  "Today I didn't speak to him. First game he was pushing him away but due to time constraint he couldn't. But he gave a tough fight and we are very proud of him. This will be a turning point of his career."
