5G And Digital Content Consumption In India: What To Expect?

5G in India could lead to advanced digital disruption with respect to content consumption and the way in which content would be consumed. TRAI also believes that there would be a positive technology revolution in India.

With 5G w being latest buzzword as far as next-gen wireless network connectivity is concerned, it only becomes imminent to ponder about if re would be a techlogy revolution as a result of 5G and related connectivity.

In this regard, at recent 13th India Digital Summit, organized by Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), TRAI Chairman Ram Sevak Sharma stated that digital future would definitely be bright with respect to 5G spectrum and connectivity. R. S. Sharma said that 5G will be digital tomorrow of this nation of fast-growing internet consumers.

“5G spectrum, unlike previous spectrums of 2G, 3G and 4G will t be focusing on high speed or connectivity only. Rar it will be an important and horizontal platform where multiple applications will ride fine, especially real-time and M2M apps, because of very little latency feature,” he stated.

Sharma also expressed positivity and optimism about Government’s regulations and policies and also exuded confidence about meeting standards as far as investments in 5G is concerned.

Also, with digital disruption apparently set to thrive, Over--Top (OTT) content is also estimated to be a strong area as far as Digital India is concerned. In this regard, videos would be at numero-u position as far as driving content consumption is concerned. Here, Neeraj Roy, Founder and CEO, Hungama digital and Hiren Ga, CEO, Shemaroo Entertainment were of opinion that estimated 500 million internet users will be subscribing to a bouquet of content in next 5 years.

With people (buyers) seeking experiences in digital world, rar than mere physical products, it only makes sense that digital media only becomes more reachable to masses like never before whilst retaining affordability.
