Airtel is now taking jibes at the feature phones which it thinks are dead now. The incumbent telco has now tweeted paying potential obituary to the old type buttons which earlier was a beloved of many millennials (at that point in time) especially to send text messages. Airtel is reminding netizens of what it thinks about this legacy system of having users type out through buttons to send messages. This tweet has now gone viral. Check out below.

Is the old feature-phone system completely dead?

Check out Airtel’s tweet below. Maybe, the telco has not yet spotted the Reliance Jio’s range of JioPhones that follow the same old pattern to which the incumbent telco is paying obituaries to. These JioPhones can now even be found within villages where 4G connectivity is slowly making inroads. Gone are the days, when 2G was the order of the day and Airtel was a major player at that point in time.

Now, Jio's feature phones support only Jio SIM cards, but there is the Nokia 4110 that supports 4G SIM cards of major telcos. Nonetheless, the above tweet by Airtel remind sus of the era in which sending SMS to friends in college was luxury and the in-thing, which has now been replaced by TikTok videos (even WhatsApp and Telegram are considered as current-gen technology elements). Do state your thoughts on AIrtel's tweet above.
