The Redmi K20’s price that attracted a petition on Change calling for Xiaomi/Redmi to reduce its cost by Rs 2000 has now garnered 5000 signatures (an earlier target) and now intends to go big by aiming to draw in 7500 signatures. At this point in time, the petition on Change has now received 5383 signatures as it inches close to 7500 affirmations.

At this point in time, the creators of the petition have even written an open letter to Xiaomi detailing why it is good to reduce the Redmi K2'0s costing by a “marginal” Rs 2000. To rewind, the petition created on Change is also asking the makers of the Redmi K20 to make the 128GB internal storage variant as the base variant rather than the current 64GB edition.

Post creation of the petition, it went viral and drew in 5000 signatures comparatively early. Now, going by the active petition, it is evident that the creator of the petition is aiming to draw in more signatures (7500). For now, the Redmi K20 64GB is Rs 22000 whereas the 128GB costs Rs 24000.

“Chinese Pricing is around Rs.19,990 and Redmi is known for releasing phones in India at cheaper rates,” states the petition.
