Reliance JioPhone at Rs 699 as part of new festive initiative
The Reliance Jio JioPhone is available at just Rs 699, with additional benefits worth Rs 693. This is part of a Diwali festive offer by Reliance Jio.
Reliance Jio's JioPhone is available at just Rs 699, with additional benefits worth Rs 693. This is part of a Diwali festive offer by Reliance Jio. The telco is also now letting customers gift the JioPhone at Rs 699.
The JioPhone at Rs 699
To gift the JioPhone, by buying it at Rs 699, you could check out the official Jio portal. Then, there would be a gift bundle that could be chosen, its amount paid, and the corresponding gift voucher sent to the intended recipient. The recipient could then redeem the gift voucher at any official Jio Store throughout India.
At this point in time, you should remember that the overall cost of a JioPhone (at Rs 699) would also include that of a one-month recharge plan. The total cost, hence, could exceed Rs 800. This offer could be a festive one. This requires registering online.
In related aspects, the Jio Interconnect Usage Charge (IUC) of 6 paise per minute is now live across all of the telco’s telecom circles in India. This charge has come under intense debate, with users divided between the requirement for such a charge, and compliance with TRAI rules that require operators to pay the other operator IUC. People are now asking a justification of Jio passing on the IUC burden to customers making calls to non-Jio networks. Such customers are required to resort to additional recharges, starting from Rs 10, to enjoy free IUC minutes. There would be additional data offered with these recharges. Other telcos, such as BSNL, Vodafone, and Bharti Airtel have clearly stated that as of now they do intend to keep unlimited voice calling as it is. There would be no extra IUC, for now, for subscribers of these telcos.
