According to media reports, water channels which were created by Gunditjmara people more than 6,000 years ago are older than Egyptian pyramids. According to UNESCO, Budj Bim Cultural Landscape, consisting of channels, weirs and dams were built from volcanic rocks, is one of world’s oldest to aquaculture system.

Denis Rose, project manr at n-profit group Gunditj Mirring Tritional Owners Aboriginal Corporation speaking to international media said that system was significantly bigger than what was previously recorded. He ded that when y returned to area, y found a channel hidden in grass and or vegetation.
He furr said that it was about 25 meters in length, which was fairly substantial size. He also said or new structures resembling channels and ponds were w visible in burnt landscape. It was a surprise to continually find new ones, he ded.

According to a statement of UNESCO, Gunditjmara people used system to redirect and modify waterways to maximize aquaculture yield. It ded, “ Budj Bim Cultural Landscape bears exceptional testimony to cultural tritions, kwledge, practices and ingenuity of Gunditjmara”.

Meanwhile, Australian authorities have confirmed that three US residents died after a firefighting aircraft crashed in sourn New South Wales (NSW) on January 23. NSW Premier Glys Berejiklian said that Large Air Tanker (LAT) crashed in Swy Monaro area where it was operating to control dely bushfires.
NSW Rural Fire Service started investigating incident after LAT reportedly went missing around 1:30 pm local time and a number of helicopters were deployed to carry out a search operation. Emergency responders found wreck after a brief search but cause of crash has t been established yet.
