At least 88 more new cases have been confirmed of coronavirus infection on February 18 in the cruise ship Diamond Princess quarantined off the Japanese coast.

According to an international news ncy, w recent anuncement by health ministry has taken total number of cases in cruise ship with nearly 3,700 passengers is 542. Japanese authorities h quarantined cruise ship in Yokohama on February 4 after a previous passenger was tested positive for dely coronavirus.
government h reportedly said earlier that all passengers on Diamond Princess h been tested for coronavirus as countries started repatriating ir onboard citizens. Recently, South Korea has also anunced that it would evacuate its citizens from cruise ship in Japan. Meanwhile, Japanese authorities have faced criticism for its handling of situation with dozens of new cases being discovered every day since ship h arrived in early February.

Authorities have tested 'everyone'
However, Japanese health minister, Katsubu Kato h reassured again on February 18 that passengers who tested negative of coronavirus, will be allowed to leave Diamond Princess from February 19. He furr told reporters that medical officials have “done tests for everyone”. Kato also said that entire process would last for two or three days. But, some people who were in contact with people who tested positive will have ir quarantine date changed.

According to international reports, crew on Diamond Princess is also expected to stay while authorities observe ar quarantine period after last passengers leave ship. Till w, countries which have said that y will evacuate its citizens include United States, Cana, Australia, Hong Kong, and w South Korea. South Korea would send a presidential aircraft on February 18 to fly back four nationals and one Japanese spouse.

Reports have also stated that re are currently 14 South Korean aboard ship but ten have declined to be evacuated from ship because y live in Japan. US also brought back more than 300 citizens from Diamond Ship and according to reports, it also includes over a dozen people who h tested positive for virus. All citizens who arrived in US from cruise ship will also undergo a quarantine period of 14 days.
Canian government h also said on February 15 that it has chartered a plane to evacuate Canians on board cruise ship Diamond Princess quarantined off Japanese coast including 255 Canians. official statement furr said that decision was taken because of “extraordinary circumstances faced by passengers” on board ship and also to “lighten burden” on Japanese health-care system.
