‘Could've never thought a quiet country like Sri Lanka could be attacked like this’: Parineeti Chopra, Arjun Kapoor express condolences to families of victims in Colombo blasts

The world is mourning the shocking bomb blasts in Sri Lanka that claimed the lives of over 100 on Easter, and numerous Bollywood stars too condemned it. Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra were among the celebrities who expressed their grief on the terror attack while conveying their prayers to the families of the victims.

The world is mourning the shocking bomb blasts in Sri Lanka that claimed the lives of over 100 on Easter, and numerous Bollywood stars too condemned it. Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra were among the celebrities who expressed their grief on the terror attack while conveying their prayers to the families of the victims.

Arjun took to Twitter and wrote he is disturbed with the ‘monstrous’ attack on the ‘auspicious day’ while expressing solidarity with the families of the victims. The actor wrote, “Really disturbed to hear about the monstrous attack in #SriLanka on such an auspicious day. My thoughts and prayers to the families of the affected .” 

Parineeti highlighted that a ‘quiet country like Sri Lanka’ was targeted to ask ‘What is the world coming to?’ while expressing her love and prayers to the families affected. She wrote, “Could never have thought a quiet country like #Srilanka could be attacked like this. What is the world coming to? Thinking of all the families affected. All my love and prayers always …"

Previously, even Prime Minister Narendra Modi and many other eminent names of the country expressed their thoughts on the attack.

Three churches- St Anthony's Church in Colombo, St Sebastian's Church in the western coastal town of Negombo and another church in the eastern town of Batticaloa and three hotels the Shangrila, the Cinnamon Grand, and the Kingsbury were targeted, killing 156 people and injuring over 400, as per reports.

The blasts occurred at around 8.45 a.m. (local time) as the Easter Sunday masses were in progress, police spokesman Ruwan Gunasekera said.
