Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has vowed to ensure health and safety of upcoming Tokyo Olympics this summer as country confirmed its first death from coronavirus.
Speaking at a government meeting on Olympic preparations in Tokyo on Friday, Abe stressed need for enhancing security measures, traffic, and transportation in dition to tackling heat and infectious diseases.

Japan reported its first domestic death caused by new coronavirus on Thursday, hours after confirming 44 more cases on a cruise ship quarantined near Tokyo.
