That’s verdict reached by French President Emmanuel Macron, cadral’s present-day architects and general in charge of colossal reconstruction project for one of world’s most treasured landmarks.

But Macron came around to tritionalists’ argument, and approved reconstruction plans for 12th century monument that were presented Thursday, according to a statement from state ncy overseeing project.
plan includes recreating 19th-century spire by Viollet Le Duc that collapsed in fire, and “favors fidelity to monument’s form and a restoration of cadral in its latest state,” statement said.

That means state tre Dame was in afteron of April 15, 2019, before fire broke out beneath its roof, toppling its spire, consuming roof and threatening rose-windowed twin towers that keep cadral upright.
More than a year later, structure remains unstable. It took nearly a year to clear out dangerous le residue released in fire and to get to point where workers could start removing scaffolding that h been in place before fire for a previous revation effort. Actual reconstruction won’t start until next year.

reconstruction plan presented Thursday says it will replicate original materials “to guarantee aunticity, harmony and coherence of this masterpiece of Gothic art.”
Those materials originally include tons of le, which is raising concerns among health and environmental groups. Toxic le spewed by fire forced schools in area to close and prompted a lengthy, painstaking cleanup effort of historic neighborhood on an island in center of Paris.
