After the Rajya Sabha passed a statutory resolution on Article 370 and the state Reorganisation bill on Monday, former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi took to Twitter yet again in his attempt to needle India.
A seemingly rattled Afridi said Kashmiris must 'be given their due rights as per UN resolution'. He also said that the world peace body United Nations was sleeping. Afridi tried to bring in Donald Trump and ignorantly said that the 'US President must play his role to mediate.' This despite the United States clarifying that Kashmir remains a bilateral issue between India and Pakistan and that Pakistan must stop supporting terror group against India.

Afridi has in the past too tried to get other parties to meddle in the Kashmir issue despite it being a bilateral issue for India.

In July, Donald Trump had falsely claimed that PM Narendra Modi had asked him to mediate between Pakistan and India in the Kashmir matter. The Ministry of External affairs soon stated that the Kashmir issue remains a bilateral one and dialogue with Pakistan comes with the condition of the country putting a stop to terrorism emanating towards India from its soil. The US State Department, which was in damage control mode, also echoed India's position.
But that did not stop a possibly ill-informed Afridi from begging US President for help.

Little over a year back too, he had used the micro-blogging platform to insult India.
