In a recent interview with Insider, chef Darren McGry, who served at Royal Palace for 11-years from 1982 to 1993, opened up about Queen Elizabeth II’s food liking and eating habits. He said that her Majesty’s Victorian upbringing dictates that only thing one would pick up and eat with ir fingers is afteron tea. He stated that Queen avoids all fast food, and if she ever requested a takeout food, royal chefs would make ir own version.
Darren McGry disclosed Queen Elizabeth II makes an exception for burgers, but it is as long as y are served without a bun. Referring to royal family’s summer vacation home in Scotland, chef said that it would always tickle him at Balmoral that y would make ir own burgers.

McGry mentioned that royals would shoot deer, and chefs would do venison burgers. former royal chef stated that royals would have burgers, but t buns. So y would eat it with ir knife and fork, he ted.

Darren McGry also shed some light on previous revelation that he me to Us Weekly about t having pizza on menu during his time in royal kitchen. He said that he worked at Buckingham Palace for eleven years and y never served pizza at all, t even at receptions. chef mentioned that menus at Palace are “very tritional French,” which would t lean towards having pizza on it.

He also revealed that chefs were never informed on what family’s plans were until afteron tea. y use to make two batches of dessert. One was served on silver and or in reusable containers if y planned to eat outside in hills. He mentioned that it was always a “m rush” when Duke of Edinburgh would come down to kitchen and say that y are going to have a barbecue.
