A top respiratory doctor in Russia has resigned from the Russian health ministry because of 'gross violations' of medical ethics regarding 'Sputnik-V'.

A top respiratory doctor in Russia has resigned from Russian health ministry because of 'gross violations' of medical ethics regarding 'Sputnik-V'. According to reports, Professor Alexander Chuchalin has left health ministry's ethics council after trying to block registration of 'world's first coronavirus vaccine' claimed by Russia on safety grounds. Chuchain allegedly named and accused two medical experts involved in vaccine's development for defying medical ethics and rushing to produce vaccine. Professor Alexander Gintsburg, director of Gamaleya Research Centre and Professor Sergey Borisevich, Russia's leing expert in virology are two doctors behind new 'world-beating vaccine'.

Concerned about safety, Chauchalin asked m about safety rms violated, as per reports. He reiterated that "this job has t been done. Thus, one of ethical principles of medicine has been grossly violated- to do harm." Chuchalin also talked about concerns expressed world regarding safety of Russian vaccine. According to reports, re are specific reasons for his resignation.

Meanwhile, World Health Organisation (WHO) said that vaccine approved by Russian authorities this week is t among nine vaccine candidates that it considers to be in vanced st, including Oxford and AstraZeneca’s ChOx1 nCoV-19 (AZD1222), which is currently undergoing final phase of testing. Dr. Bruce Aylward, a senior viser to WHO's director-general, reportedly said that global body is in talks with Russia to get ditional information as y don't have eugh material to make a judgement on vaccine developed by Russia.
On August 11, Russia anunced that it h become first country to develop a vaccine and authorise it for public use, but experts from across world doubt safety of drug as it has t yet completed vanced trials on humans. Russian President Vlimir Putin h controversially claimed that one of his daughters h been given vaccine developed by country.
