Shane Nigam's apology over row doesn't cut ice, producers want him banned from South films

Shane Nigam's apology over the row on his alleged unprofessional conduct, comments against producers didn't cut ice with them. The producers seek a ban on him.

row over Shane Nigam’s alleged ‘unprofessional’ conduct has escalated for past few days. Despite actor’s apology,  Kerala Film Producers Association (KFPA) is in mood to relent. As per reports, KFPA has w approached  South Indian Film Chamber (SIFC). y are seeking a ban on Shane Nigam from t just Malayalam, but also Tamil Telugu and Kanna films, till producers of movies who faced losses allegedly due to him, were compensated. As per reports, figure is estimated to be around Rs 7 crore.

producers of two movies, Veyil and Qurbaani, have claimed that y h to shelve ir projects due to Shane Nigam’s alleged professional conduct, that involved coming late to sets and more. re was also a controversy over him cutting his hair, that led to a face-off with producer of Veyil, Joby George. actor h claimed that he h received ‘death threats’ from producer. As producers' association intervened, KFPA anunced that three films, t two as is being reported w, starring  Kumbalangi Nights star were being scrapped.

latest row was after his comments at International Film Festival of Kerala, where he was quoted as saying, “I doubt producers have suffered t mental trauma but mental illness.” producers reportedly were furious with his comments again and demanded an apology. In a Facebook post on Wednesday, he said, “My apologies if anyone is hurt by my words” while urging that y go through path of forbearance.” “ statement I me on IFFK st in Thiruvananthapuram has been misunderstood. It is true that I told media that I am t sure wher y have mental agony or mental illness. However, I said that in a jocular manner, in my own style with a smile on my face. If anyone has been hurt or upset by my words, I apologise unconditionally,” he was quoted as saying.
