Taliban asserts Afghan peace negotiators agreed on procedural rules during talks in Doha

Taliban spokesperson said negotiators from both sides for the Afghan peace process have agreed on procedural rules with 21 items for the intra-Afghan talks

A Taliban spokesperson on Saturday, vember 28 said that negotiators from both sides for Afghan peace process have agreed on procedural rules with 21 items for intra-Afghan talks on vember 15.

" procedure of Intra-Afghan negotiations between negotiating teams was completed and finalized in 21 articles on 15th of vember 2020," tweeted Mohamm Naeem, a spokesman for Taliban.

According to reports, a breakthrough in talks was me this week and both sides are reported to have agreed to include US-Taliban agreement, commitments of negotiating teams, UN endorsements for Afghan peace process, and will of people of Afghanistan.

However, Afghan Presidential Palace dismissed reports that any progress h been me in peace talks and said that impasse still remained.

Confidential trip to Kabul

Meanwhile, Afghan chief negotiator Mohamm Massoom Stanikzai and presidential peace viser Salam Rahimi have been on a confidential trip to Kabul for past three days. y are seeking President Ghani's approval for agreed formulation, according to reports. peace negotiations between Taliban and Afghanistan government started on September 12. However, direct talks have started to date because of disagreements on procedural rules for negotiations.

According to reports, Taliban has std attacks on centers of at least 50 districts in 16 provinces across country following signing of peace deal with US in Doha in February. Most of se attacks happened in last two months after start of negotiations in Qatar as members from both sides of peace negotiations met several times to agree on contested issue.
