British PM announces statutory sick pay from first day of isolation amid coronavirus dread
British PM has said that instead of giving statutory sick pay from the fourth day off from work, the govt will now provide the pay from the first day itself.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said that inste of giving statutory sick pay from fourth day off from work, government will w provide pay from first day itself. Speaking during Prime Minister's Questions, Johnson said on March 4 that government h put "record funding" into National Health Service (NHS) in order to ensure that it has everything it needs as world battles dely coronavirus. Having at least 87 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in country, British PM explained that in "emergency coronavirus legislation" people who will stay in self-isolation to protect ors from being infected, will be getting paid from first day y take an off.

Johnson furr ded, "And I think that is right way forward, and body should be penalised for doing right thing."
Johnson has also claimed earlier that his country was fully prepared to battle dely coronavirus, international media reported. According to reports, he also said that he could ask army to step in worst-case scenario. virus, first detected in China has infected more than 95,000 people globally and reportedly caused over 3,200 deaths. According to international media, Britain has reported over 80 cases of COVID-19.

Highly unlikely that numbers will grow in UK
While speaking to international media, British PM h said that he fully understood public concern about global spre of coronavirus but it was highly unlikely that UK will see growing numbers. He furr said that keeping Britain safe was “government’s overriding priority.” While talking about army intervention, he said that military is always rey to backfill but that would be under a “reasonable worst-case scenario.”
Britain's chief medical officer on March 3 said that one per cent of people who contract new coronavirus might die, based on Chinese experience. Speaking at a news conference alongside British PM and Britain's chief scientific viser Sir Patrick Vallance, Professor Chris Whitty ded that risk was higher in older and more vulnerable people. He said that predicting a percent of how many would be infected was "largely speculative" because of proportion of people who have symptoms of disease and who have t been counted in overall numbers, and what proportion of population can get infected.
