14 positive coronavirus cases among Americans evacuated from cruise ship in Japan
14 people tested positive for coronavirus were among the 300 Americans evacuated from the quarantined Japanese cruise ship Diamond Princess

With different parts of world reeling from coronavirus outbreak, US State Department on February 17 stated that a total of 14 people out of more than 300 American evacuees tested positive for COVID-19, days after y were tested for same. According to reports, Americans were evacuated from quarantined cruise ship in Japan.
Passengers h alrey left ship
US State Department and Department of Health and Human Services in a joint statement said that passengers h alrey left Diamond Princess and were planning to return to United States when authorities informed that 14 people h tested positive for COVID-19, days after being subject to tests.

According to reports, both departments' statement furr ded that infected people were shifted to a specialised containment area onboard chartered evacuation aircraft and were put in isolation. 14 people were isolated from rest of evacuees during entire journey.
first evacuation aeroplane would be landing at a United Staes Air Force base located in California where all passengers will be subject to a 14 days quarantine period. A second evacuation flight will be heing towards ar base located in San Antonio, Texas.

At least 70,400 people have w been infected nationwide in China, with most cases being recorded in Hubei, where virus first emerged in December.

Epidemic could dam global ecomic growth
On February 16, IMF warned that coronavirus epidemic could dam global ecomic growth this year. International Monetary Fund's managing director Kristalina Georgieva while dressing Global Women's Forum in Dubai stated that while re may be a global decline, a sharp and rapid ecomic rebound could follow.
