As per the video, the boy and his mother are shown walking out of an elevator followed by a delivery man. As the mother is shown waiting for someone to open a door, her curious child walks over to the railings of the staircase and puts his hand on what he thinks is a sheet of glass.
While she is busy browsing her phone, the child promptly walks over to a railing next to the elevator and crouches down, straining to get a good look at what’s below. While crouching, he loses his balance and stumbles forward.

Seeing her child fall, the brave mother quickly throws herself over the edge of the railing to grab her son with the delivery man quickly running to the floor below to help save the boy.
The video was shared on Reddit where users discussed the mother's brave save. Some even argued the railings were not qualified for safety standards.

"Nothing happened to the child, he did not have any type of injury, fortunately," said building manager Juan Franco. "You have to credit the instinct of this mother, how she manages to protect her son."
The child was lucky enough to escape without injuries, however, according to a media source, the building management later placed a cardboard box in front of the guardrail hole and surrounded the metal bars with tape.
