Vivo launched the online-exclusive U10 budget phone in India on Tuesday. Launched at a starting price of Rs 8,599, the Vivo U10 is the most affordable phone in India to come with a ginormous 5,000mAh battery and 18W fast charging support out-of-the-box. This may be short lived though as Xiaomi is also gearing to launch a phone called the Redmi 8A in India on September 25 which is set to come with a similar sized battery and fast charging (possibly also 18W). The Redmi 8A – if the Redmi 7A price is anything to go by – may take that crown, in the days to come.

But what it’s worth, the Vivo U10 seems like an attractive budget offering – at least in paper. It has a modern flashy gradient design with a waterdrop-style notch, big screen, capable hardware with lots of RAM and storage options available, and interesting cameras – there are four in all on offer here. But the real steal is the price. The Vivo U10 starts for as low as Rs 8,599 for the base variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage going all the way to Rs 10,990 for the top-end variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.

Vivo U10 specs and features

Speaking of core specs, the Vivo U10 has a 6.35-inch HD+ or 720p+ display with a waterdrop-style notch. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor paired with up to 4GB RAM and up to 64GB storage – there's also a provision for storage expansion. On to the cameras, the U10 comes with three rear cameras – a 13MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP depth camera for portrait photography. On the front, the U10 comes with an 8MP camera.

The main USP of the phone is its sizeable 5,000mAh battery though which is claimed to offer up to 7 hours of PUBG playback on single charge. The phone also supports 18W fast charging which is claimed to offer up to 4.5 hours of talk time on a 10-minute charge.

Speaking of design, the U10 has a plastic exterior – a plastic glossy one like the one seen in Vivo’s other budget phones like the S1 and Z1 Pro. The phone will be available in two colours – electric blue and thunder black.

Vivo U10 India price and availability

The Vivo U10 starts at Rs 8,599 for the base variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage going all the way to Rs 10,990 for the top-end variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The U10 will also be available in 3GB/64GB configuration for Rs 9,990.
