Aaditya Thackeray backed for Maha polls by 'big brother' Sanjay Dutt
Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt has extended his wishes to Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray ahead of the assembly polls. He said state needs more young dynamic leaders.

Shiv Sena's Aaditya Thackeray will contest the Maharashtra assembly elections from Worli constituency in Mumbai, becoming the first member of the Thackeray family to do so. The youth leader has expressed confidence over his electoral debut and has promised to create a 'new Maharashtra'. Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt has extended his wishes to the Sena leader ahead of the assembly polls on October 21. In a video shared on Twitter by a core-committee member of Yuva Sena, the youth wing of Shiv Sena, Sanjay Dutt can be seen wishing his "younger brother" Aaditya Thackeray.
Dutt thanks Thackeray family for their support
Sanjay Dutt said, "Aaditya Thackeray is like a younger brother to me and he comes from a fantastic lineage of Balasaheb Thackeray's gene, he was the one who immensely supported me, my family, he is like a father figure to me and I cannot ever forget it, Uddhav Bhai is the same too and I wish Aaditya all the very best. I fully hope that he wins by a big margin because we need dynamic young leaders in our country. Jai Hind. Jai Maharashtra."

'Shiv Sena will create new Maharashtra'
Aaditya Thackeray had carried out a massive roadshow ahead of filing the nomination papers for his electoral debut from Worli seat in Mumbai in the Maharashtra assembly polls. On being questioned about his plans for the state during the roadshow, he asserted that after coming to power, Shiv Sena will create new Maharashtra. He also announced that Worli will be made "A+". Aaditya Thackeray added that the entire Sena family is with him.

Maharashtra Assembly polls
Maharashtra which has 288 Assembly seats will go to polls on 21 October 2019. Maharashtra assembly elections will be held in a single-phase and the counting procedure would be conducted on October 24. Shiv Sena will contest for polls from 124 constituencies, the BJP will contest from 150 and its allies will contest from 14 constituencies. Meanwhile, Congress in alliance with Sharad Pawar's NCP, have decided to contest 125 seats each in the 288-member assembly, leaving the remaining 38 seats for its allies. Currently, the BJP holds 122 seats while the Shiv Sena holds 63 seats and the Opposition held by UPA has 42 seats.
