Shiv Sena forays into Bihar polls; Maha CM Uddhav, Aaditya to campaign in virtual rallies

Ahe of Bihar elections, Shiv Sena has anunced that y will contest in 50 seats in state and that Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray and state minister Aitya Thackeray will campaign via virtual rallies. anuncement was me by National spokesperson of party and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Raut.
This comes as Sushant Singh Rajput case has been a bone of contention between Maharashtra's ruling Shiv Sena and Bihar government led by Nitish Kumar. While Bihar government alleged that Bihar Police and DGP Gupteshwar Pandey were t allowed to investigate matter, Maharashtra government dismissed allegations claiming that it was a political approach.

Bihar goes to polls in three phases for its 243 assembly seats on October 28, vember 3 and vember 7. Keeping in view COVID-19 protocol, voting time has been increased by one hour. counting of votes will take place on vember 10.

NDA has anunced its seat-sharing formula: BJP will contest 121 seats and JD(U) will contest 115, while Jitan Ram Manjhi's HAM will contest 7 seats. VIP party will be incorporated in BJP's seats. In 2015 state polls, Mahagatbandhan comprising RJD, JD(U) and Congress won a whopping majority with 178 seats under leership of Nitish Kumar. On or hand, BJP-led alliance won from only 58 constituencies. On July 26, 2017, Nitish Kumar stepped down as CM citing irreconcilable differences with RJD over corruption allegations against Tejashwi Yav and joined hands with its former ally BJP.

Seat sharing formula
NDA- led by BJP poll-in-charge Devendra Fnavis has faced a revolt from LJP, which has decided to contest separately claiming ideological differences with JD(U). Snubbing m, BJP has reaffirmed Nitish Kumar as its CM candidate and has released its seat-share with JD(U) with BJP keeping 121 seats for itself out of which 11 seats will be given to Mukesh Sahni-led Vikassheel Insaan Party. On or hand, JD(U) will field its candidates in only 115 constituencies whereas Hindustani Awam Morcha has been given go-ahe in 7 seats- Kasba, Makhdumpur, Kutumba, Imamganj, Barachatti, Tikari and Sikandra. LJP has stated that it will t field its candidates against BJP and is open for a post-poll coalition.

Similarly, Mahagathbandhan which saw initial revolt from Congress finally agreed to a 144-70 seat-share formula with Congress, and three or Communist parties contesting on 29 seats, anuncing Tejashwi Yav as its CM face. BJP, JDU, Congress, RJD, JMM have alrey released ir list of candidates. Bihar will vote in 3 phases - October 28, vember 3, and vember 7, with results being declared on vember 10.
